
Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE) announced the results of the recent elections, revealing a significant victory for the Simon Bolivar Great Patriotic Pole (GPPSB) coalition.
The GPPSB secured a majority of the country’s governorships, winning in 23 of the states after the counting of 93% of the ballots.
Among the winning candidates were Luis Marcano Salazar in Anzoategui, Wilmer Rodriguez in Apure, and Joana Norelys Sanchez in Aragua.
Several incumbent governors, including Victor Clark in Falcon, Rafael Lacava in Carabobo, and Freddy Bernal in Tachira, were also reelected. The coalition’s victory included the governorship of the disputed Guayana Esequiba region, where Admiral Neil Villamizar won with 97% of the vote.
Other key victories for the GPPSB coalition included Adan Chavez Frias in Barinas, Luis Caldera in Zulia, and Marisel Velazquez in Nueva Esparta. President Nicolas Maduro offered full budgetary support to the Guayana Esequiba region after the victory, emphasizing the rights of its people.
In total, GPPSB candidates won in Amazonas, Delta Amacuro, Yaracuy, Portuguesa, Sucre, Trujillo, and La Guaira. The election results are seen as a show of support for President Maduro and the Bolivarian Revolution.
