The United Kingdom has accused Russia of conducting a sustained cyber campaign aimed at disrupting support for Ukraine.

The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) released a statement detailing the alleged attacks, identifying several Russian intelligence services as the perpetrators.

The primary targets of the cyber operations were organizations and individuals involved in providing humanitarian aid, logistical support, and financial assistance to Ukraine.

According to the NCSC, the attacks used various techniques, including phishing and credential harvesting, to gain access to sensitive information and systems.

The Russian actors reportedly attempted to compromise networks and systems used by both governmental and non-governmental organizations.

The UK government asserted that the aim of these cyber operations was to undermine the international effort to support Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict.

The NCSC stated that the attacks are ongoing and advised organizations involved in Ukraine support to review their cyber security practices and implement recommended mitigations.

The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has stated that it is working with international allies to counter Russian cyber threats and deter further attacks.
