Samsung Unveils $30,000 Micro RGB TV with Unprecedented Color Accuracy

Samsung has launched its groundbreaking Micro RGB television, retailing at $29,999, which promises a new benchmark in premium display technology. The 115-inch set, showcased at Samsung’s New Jersey headquarters, delivers an astonishing visual experience, boasting the world’s first coverage of 100 percent of the BT.2020 color standard. This advancement positions the Micro RGB TV as a significant leap beyond current high-end display technologies.

The new Micro RGB television utilizes individually controlled red, green, and blue Micro LEDs, a departure from the blue or white backlighting common in today’s premium sets. This self-emissive pixel technology allows for an exceptionally wide color gamut, surpassing the DCI-P3 standard widely used in filmmaking. In person, this translates to colors that are remarkably rich and vivid, reportedly outshining even Samsung’s own Neo QLED QN90F models, which begin at $26,999.

The 115-inch Micro RGB TV shares a similar design and 144Hz refresh rate with its Neo QLED counterparts, but differentiates itself with four times the number of dimming zones and a new RGB Engine AI processor to manage the intricate pixel control. While viewing demo footage, the intensity and depth of hues were striking, particularly in scenes dominated by blues and greens. Despite the immense panel size, viewing from an optimal distance of approximately 11.5 feet revealed exceptional sharpness and detail with no noticeable falloff in brightness or saturation, even from off-center positions.
