PNY has announced the release of its new microSD Express cards, designed for use with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console.
These cards are compatible with the Switch 2, replacing the previous microSD format used in the original Switch.
The microSD Express cards are available in two storage capacities: 128GB and 256GB.
The 128GB card is priced at $44.99, and the 256GB card, matching the Switch 2’s internal storage capacity, costs $55.99.
The 128GB card offers read and write speeds of 890MB/s and 550MB/s, respectively.
The 256GB card provides the same read speed but a faster write speed of 750MB/s.
The cards are available for purchase on PNY’s website and are expected to be available at participating retailers soon.
Users may want to consider these cards to expand the Switch 2’s storage, especially when transferring their game libraries from previous consoles, as older microSD cards will not be compatible.
While the Switch 2 offers 256GB of internal storage, these cards offer an additional storage solution for gamers with large game libraries.
