Venezuela is preparing for regional and legislative elections scheduled for this coming Sunday. Over 400 international observers will be present to monitor the electoral process.
These observers have been reviewing the preparations made by the National Electoral Council (CNE). They will be visiting polling stations to ensure the transparency of the elections.
President Nicolas Maduro stated that Venezuela is providing all necessary guarantees for free and fair elections. The observers will be checking voting machines, logistics, and conditions at polling stations.
The international observers come from various organizations including multilateral entities, parliaments, and allied political movements. Rander Peña, the vice president for International Affairs of PSUV, held meetings with several of the international observers who have already arrived in the country, further lending credibility to the electoral process.
Among those observing the elections are representatives from Guinea-Bissau, Namibia, Congo, Saint Lucia, Türkiye, and Jordan. Their presence aims to ensure the integrity and legitimacy of the Venezuelan elections.
